Pyar Hua Ikrar hua Hai – Shree 420 (1955)


 


This number from the 1955 movie Shree 420 is one of the most loved songs in Bollywood till date. Raj Kapoor and Nargis are still remembered for their sizzling performance in this song. It was beautifully directed where both Raj Kapoor and Nargis walk in rain under one umbrella gazing at each other.


 


Ek ladki bheegi bhaagi si - Chalti ka naam gaadi (1958)



One of the most loved Kishor Kumar Songs of all time. Who could forget Madhubala looking gorgeous drenched and stranded due to her faulty car walking into Kumar’s garage? Madhubala plays hide and seek behind tinted car windows and Kishore Kumar trying to fix up her car singig, dancing jumping.


Bheegi Bheegi Raato Mein – Ajnabi (1974)



1970s Superstar Rajesh Khanna and beautiful Zeenat  Aman  sizzled in the rain, bringing in audiences in droves. This is one of the iconic rain songs sung by the super hit duo Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar which will remain evergreen.


Rim Jhim Gire Sawan – Manzil (1979)



This classic romantic song has male and female versions, the female version is sung by Lata Mangeshkar and picturized more lively and interesting, showing the hero Amitabh Bacchan and heroine Moushumi Chatterji enjoying the rains in the streets of south Mumbai.


Aaj Rapat Jaye Toh – Namak Halaal (1982)



Amitabh Bacchan and Smita Patil dancing in the rain surrendering to monsoon madness have made this song one of the iconic Bollywood rain songs. This foot-tapping number from the film Namak Halaal will always find a place in the list of top bollywood rain songs.


 


Tip Tip Barsa Paani – Mohra (1994)



This is one of the most famous songs from the 90s picturized on Ravina Tandon and Akshay Kumar. This song has become one of the iconic rain songs as Raveena Tandon had set fire in the industry with her sensuous rain dance in a yellow saree. The song with its catchy tune and Akshay Ravina’s performance is still in everyone’s memory.


 


Mere Khwabo Mein Jo Aaye – Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995)



Though this song was not fully shot in the rains, the beginning of the song is seen where Shah Rukh Khan playing rugby in heavy rains dodging other players and scoring goal. Kajol’s sizzling dance in rain has definitely earned this song its place in the list of all time great Bollywood Rain Songs.


 


Barso Re Megha – Guru (2007)


 


'Barso Re' is sung by Shreya Ghoshal and features the always stunning Aishwarya Rai Bachchan joyously dancing in the rain! The unique dance steps choreographed by Saroj Khan executed flawlessly with million dollar expressions of enjoying rains by Aishwaria makes this song one of the best Bollywood rain songs. Saroj Khan also won Filmfare Best Choreography award.  The soundtrack of 'Guru' won numerous awards including the Filmfare, IIFA, Zee cine and Starscreen for Best Music Direction for A.R. Rahman. Shreya Ghoshal won the same 4 awards for Best Playback singer Female for this song.
