5 MOVIES INSPIRED BY TRUE STORIES.

Bollywood is popularly known for being very romantic, and dreamy, with stories full of drama and unrealistic plots. The industry is often criticized too for this. However, to defend Bollywood, some amazing directors have also given Bollywood some quite good movies based on true stories.


1)  Special 26:


         Based on the 1987 Opera Heist, this movie starring Akshay Kumar is one movie one must catch up on.  The story of this movie revolves around an income tax raid at a jeweller in Mumbai. It also has an element of romance of Akshay Kumar with Kajal Aggarwal.


 


2) Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai:



        If in a mood for underworld Don business, this movie will surely not disappoint you. The story of this movie revolves loosely around the lives of and business affairs of Haji Mastaan and Dawood Ibrahim. Ajay Devgn plays the role of Sultan Mirza, a character based on Haji Mastaan and Emraan Hashmi portrays his character Shoaib Khan which is based on Dawood Ibrahim.


 


3) Talvar:



          Extremely engrossing and full of suspense “Talvar” is a story based on the controversial murder case of Arushi Talvar along with a servant. Irfan Khan gives a stunning performance in this movie as Ashwin Kumar as the Joint Director of Central Department of Investigation. This film also captures all perspectives of the characters  in the film making it more real and intriguing for the audience.                                                                                                                                                                                                      


4) No One Killed Jessica:



          Another thrilling murder mystery case adapted by Indian cinemas is “No One Killed Jessica.” Being based on the murder case of Jessica Lal this movie also becomes a biographical thriller. The protagonists of this movie is played by Vidya Balan, who plays the role of Jessica’s elder sister Sabrina Lal and the role of reporter is played by Rani Mukerji called “Meera.” The story moves forward with the quest of Meera performing sting operations to expose the corruption in law and justice of the country. This movie also empowers women power and feminism. Thus, this movie is surely a full package of drama and suspense and one must definitely watch this movie.


 


5) Gangs of Wasseypur:



            Apart from the famous song “O Womaniya”, this movie is also known for it’s plot. The story of this film revolves around the coal mafia of Jharkhand and of course, the struggles of trade, politics and enemity between families. This movie can be said to be the beginning of the saga of this movie franchise. Along with the dominating grim theme the movie has, it also does have an element of humour which is caused due to the events that occur in the movie. Pankaj Tripathi, Manoj Bajpayee, RichaChadda along with others have given a noteworthy performance in this movie. The sequel to this movie “Gangs of Wasseypur 2” is also recommendable to watch.
