  1. Mr. India  (1987):

Mr. India has been one of the memorable films made in Indian cinema, particularly remembered for its science fiction and super hero genre which was not very popular back in the 1980s. The movie stars Anil kapoor and late sridevi in the lead roles while Amrish puri being the main antagonist ‘Mogambo’ (a character which has become eternal in the history of Indian cinema).  The movie combines a little bit of science fiction of Mr. X or H.G.Well’s  Invisible man and a little bit of super hero dual identity and some bollywood masala to make it a movie that has remained in the memory of almost every indian millennial.

  1. Koi mil gaya (2003):

Koi mil gaya is one of the very few bollywood films which have dealt with the concept of alien invasions on earth.  The plot is loosely based on the 1982 Hollywood flick Extra terrestrial E.T. The movie also showcases one of Hrithik roshan’s finest performances till date and is indubitably one of the films that enthralled almost every indian teenager when it had released in 2003. The film was critically acclaimed and won innumerable awards at the filmfare including the award for best film, best director, best actor and best choreography.

  1. Krrish (2006):

Super hero films in india are so few that they can be counted on the fingers of your hands and Krrish is one of them. A sequel to the 2003 film Koi Mil gaya, this super-hero movie stars Hrithik Roshan in a dual role. The film received mostly positive reviews as well as appreciation for its special effects. The movie has won accolades making Krrish an iconic super hero of India.

  1. Enthiran/Robot (2010):

An andro-humanoid robot becoming self aware and developing human emotions and the problems that emanate from it is what the movie Robot is all about. Originally made in Tamil as Enthiran and dubbed into Hindi as Robot, this Superstar Rajnikanth starrer sci-fi film is acclaimed for its extensive special effects, strong innovative storyline, insightful dialogues, this movie has it all. The film also won 2 filmfare awards for its special effects and production design.

  1. Krrish 3 (2013):

Krrish 3 is the third instalment in the Krrish series following Koi mil gaya (2003) and Krrish (2006). The movie stars Hrithik Roshan in a dual role opposite Priyanka Chopra while Vivek Oberoi and Kangana Ranaut being the antagonists.  Krrish 3 is quite likely to remind you of some of the characters in the X-men series if you have watched X-men. Nevertheless the movie received mixed reviews and was appreciated for its visual effects and action, while some criticised it for its lack of originality.
