When it comes to entertainment in India, people are solely dependent on 3 things, Bollywood, cricket and politics. How great would it be if we could combine two of them together? Well, Bollywood has already done that. Let us see some films in Bollywood that are inspired by Bollywood.


 


1)Sarkar:


        A Ram Gopal Verma film that consists of crime, politics and thrills, making it a perfect package of drama. This film can be said to be loosely inspired by the movie, “The Godfather”. A hit at the box offices, this movie has a very captivating plot.  A plot that has absolute no diversions, this movie is on the point and will definetly keep the viewer focused and concentrated. Do not forget to also watch the sequel to this movie as it elevates Sarkar to another dimension.



2)Raajneeti:


         Literally being translated as politics, this movie sparked controversy right before it released. The censor board had banned the release of this movoe thinking that the lead that was played by Katrina Kaif was the character of Sonia Gandhi and Rabri Devi. Based on how gaining power also requires corruption can be said to be the theme of this movie. Starring Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal this movie will surely give you a tour of the political world.



3) Gulaal:


        Directed by Anurag Kashyap, this film revolves around the dirty world of politics. This film highlights the struggle of acquiring power along with the portrayal of supremacy and the hypocrisy of the higher authorities. The plot is based on a law student being assaulted by a gang and thus, in order to get his revenge, he is pulled into the world of politics. Does he come out clean or is swallowed into the world of politics..?


 


4)Aarakshan:


Based on the reservation system of India this political drama will really make you put on your thinking cap. This movie starring Amitabh Bacchan, Saif Ali Khan, and DeepikaPadukone satirically speaks about the caste based reservation system in education. This film sparked a lot of controversies but it also touched a lot of hearts. It’s a must watch if yourelooking for some socially infused political drama that is based on some aspects of the real world politics.



5) Thackeray:


           Portraying the life of Late. Balasaheb Thackeray, this movie was released in Hindi and Marathi. The character of Balasaheb was beautifully played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. This movie shows how one of the powerful political parties was founded and created by Balasaheb. A biopic on Thackeray, consists crowd-pleasing dialogues and intense politics. Surely not a movie to miss if you are a fan of politics!
