As 90s babies we are all nostalgic about some movies. The 90s was an era when we as kids were blissfully unaware about the outside world and Bollywood movies meant a lot to us and were the closest to our hearts. We loved watching those movies on the 70mm screen and they are till date dear to our hearts. We today share a list of the top 10 90s hit movies that made a major impact on the lives of all the 90s babies!

A typical Bollywood masala film by Abbas-Mastan, Baazigar is by far Shahrukh Khan’s best performance in a negative role. The electric performance by Shahrukh Khan in this film surely stole our hearts.


Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar

Mansoor Khan’s Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar was a drama film based about the lives of school students. The movie beautifully portrays every relation. Be it a father-son relation, friendship, love & heartbreak the movie beautifully depicted each aspect. Also not to forget the nail-biting climax of the bike race!


 


Hum Hai Raahi Pyaar Ke

This was a film that gave such us amazing vibes of warmth and love! A film based on the life of a young grad who is given the responsibility to take care of 3 kids after his sister’s demise is the best slice of life films of the 90s. The film’s lead actor Amir Khan, also was a co-writer of the film.


Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa

The magic of this film can never be recreated. This movie is also one of Shahrukh Khan’s all-time favorite. A film by Kundan Shah, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa is an amazing movie based on unrequited love.


Andaz Apna

Ask any 90s kid which their favorite comedy movie and we bet their answer will be Andaz Apna. From the lead characters of the film Amar and Prem to the villians Teja and crime master Gogo, every actor beautifully depicted their respective roles and entertained the audiences!

This was Mani Ratnam’s first Hindi Film featuring Shahrukh Khan & Manisha Koirala in the lead. It is the impossibility of the love story between them that made the film so eternal and touched millions of hearts!


Ghulam



Ghulam was a remake of the movie On The Waterfront that had Amir Khan in the lead playing the role of a typical tapori in the Mumbai city who worked for a local gangster. The film’s story takes a u-turn after Amir’s brother’s murder. Both Amir Khan & Rajit Kapoor delivered excellent performances.


Baadshah

A comedy film known for the self-deprecating humor by Shahrukh Khan was a complete entertainer for the audience & is so even today!


Chachi 420

Aamir Khan nailed the tough cop role in this movie and was exceptionally supported by enemy Naseeruddin Shah who plays a world famous Ghazal singer Gulfam Hassan. The film addresses real issues like insurgency, arms smuggling without making much of it & is one of the best movies of 1990s.
